  • Kadon Douglas

    Executive Director

    With a profound respect for artists and storytellers, combined with a strong dedication to justice and liberation, Kadon Douglas finds joy in supporting artists and cultural producers in their career development. Before her role at BIPOC TV & FILM, Kadon spearheaded dynamic marketing and communication approaches at The Creative School at Ryerson University, as well as at Women in Film & Television-Toronto. Kadon’s accolades include participation in prestigious programs like the Hot Docs International Film Festival: Doc Accelerator (2013) and the Shaw Media Diverse Voices initiative (2015). A 2023 Globe and Mail Top 25 Most Influential People in Canadian Television. Kadon maintains an active presence within the screen-based media community, generously offering her time as a speaker and advisor. Notably, she chaired the Reelworld Film Festival (2020) and sits on the board of the Canadian Independent Screen Fund for Black and POC creators (CISF) and the steering committee of Digital Media at the Crossroads. A Caribbean native—Grenada—Kadon lives in Toronto with her anime-loving teenage son and their cat, Lord Philip Onyx Douglas the First.

  • Ashutosh Sharma

    Manager, Community Engagement

    Ashutosh Sharma is an Indian-born writer, and media professional currently residing in Toronto, Canada. He holds degrees in media studies, arts administration, and TV writing and producing, and has a passion for using his skills to create positive change in the world. Throughout his career, Ashutosh has focused on writing and advocacy, using his words to raise awareness and make a difference. In addition to his writing, Ashutosh has been an active advocate for causes he believes in, volunteering his time and resources to support local organizations and initiatives. When he's not working, Ashutosh enjoys indulging in his favorite hobbies: comedy and crying about sports teams he supports. He has a quick wit and a sharp sense of humor, and loves to make people laugh. Despite the occasional heartbreak caused by his beloved sports teams, Ashutosh remains a devoted fan and is always eager to discuss the latest games and matches. Overall, Ashutosh is a driven and passionate individual who is committed to making a positive impact on the world through his writing and advocacy work.

  • Rebecca Rashev

    Coordinator, Communications

    Rebecca Rashev recently graduated from the Digital Communications degree program at Humber College. Her interests focus on examining the connections between social advocacy, digital media and technology, specifically within social media platforms. At BIPOC TV & Film, her responsibilities surround conceptualizing + creating content that supports community engagement, promotion and spotlights using BTF’s various social platforms. This includes keeping audience up to date with BTVF programs and events, announcing upcoming events and opportunities offered within the industry (shared with us or found organically), and promoting/spotlighting community members successes.

  • Reda Lahmouid

    Lead, HireBIPOC

    Reda Lahmouid is currently Lead coordinator for HireBIPOC/EmbauchezDiversité. In his role, Reda liaises with employers from across Canada and supports them in finding and staffing crew for their productions. Reda also leads all engagement with organizations and agencies in Francophone Canada. He is part of the BIPOC TV & Film team since November 2020. Apart from his commitment to encourage diversity on the canadian screens, Reda is a director-writer-ideator who was born and raised in Casablanca, Morocco and currently lives in Montreal. Reda's credits include short-films, music videos and commercials, as well as co-directing a feature film, "Première Vague", which was released in theatres and on "Crave" platform. It won the Réals-ARRQ 2022 award for Best Work of Fiction. His latest project of documentary series "Immigration Football Club" has been granted a development fund by BSO/Rogers.
