“All these years, all the films that I’ve watched and loved and characters that I’ve related to and identified myself with, most of them don’t look like me. But nonetheless, I related to them wholly anyways. So then I thought, why should that be any different for non-Korean or non-Asian people, to be able to relate to these Asian characters?”
