In early 2022, Unity partnered with Stratagem, the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, and Magnet to train and certify a diverse population of students, educators, displaced workers, and employees with a Skills Development Grant from Ontario’s Ministry of Labour. Over 60 program participants have been engaged via local nonprofits, including Toronto Community Housing, BIPOC TV & Film, and the Remix Project.

The CBC-BIPOC TV & Film Showrunner Catalyst is back! This program offers career coaching and shadowing opportunities for senior Canadian BIPOC writers. Along with masterclasses, each writer gains practical showrunning experience on a Canadian-produced primetime drama or comedy series and receives 1:1 mentorship from an established writer or producer.
